TAMPA, FL — The first ever Zumper Tampa Metro Report analyzed active listings in March across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest-growing rents. The Florida state median rent last month was $1,222.
Zumper is a national online platform that provides data on apartments and other rental properties.
Here’s what Zumper found:
The Most Expensive
–Dunedin rent was the most expensive in the metro with one bedrooms priced at $1,250.
–Westchase followed close behind as second with rent at $1,220.
–Tampa ranked as third with rent at $1,140.
The Least Expensive
–Zephyrhills was the most affordable city with rent priced at $650.
–New Port Richey rent was $760, making it the second least expensive.
–Hudson was third with rent at $780.
The Fastest Growing Per Year
–Dunedin had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, climbing 15.7 percent.
–Tampa and St. Petersburg tied for second with rents both up 14 percent.
–Pinellas Park had the third largest rental growth rate, jumping 10 percent.
The Fastest Growing Last Month
–Temple Terrace rent was the fastest growing last month, up 5.3 percent.
–Pinellas Park was second with rent climbing 4.8 percent.
The Zumper Tampa Metro Report analyzed active listings that hit the market in March 2018. Listings are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
